Zone 7 Stream Management Implementation Plan
Adopted in 2006, the plan is aimed at protecting valley communities from floods through planned build-out in 2034, while at the same time improving water quality, wildlife habitat and public recreational opportunities (emphasis added).

It was in 1982 that Livermore Valley was approved by the BATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms) as an American Vititcultural Area.The Appellation was granted on the basis of Livermore's unique gravelly soils and afternoon, marine winds. More information is on our links page.


FOV is following 2 issues:
As of 11/07, we have been following two issues that impact the vineyards
and agricultural zones outside the urban growth boundary for over a year.

1) One issue is the proposal for very large church complex on South Livermore Avenue,
outside the urban boundary and inside the South Livermore Plan vineyard area.
The other issue is a proposal to build not just a cemetery but also three residences,
chapel, mausoleum, and administrative offices on North Livermore Avenue, also outside the urban boundary.
2) We have testified at both the County Planning Commission and at the Board of Supervisors.
Both issues are dormant as of 11/07,
but still lurking in the underbrush of the decision-making process.
We will keep you informed of any changes or need to mobilize.

We are keeing informed about new regulations of the South Livermore Plan being implemented that might make it difficult for wineries to do business. There is also concern that the county is holding discussions on the SLP and we want tokeep informed.
